How to Follow a Pattern:You see such cool fashions that you want to stitch up.  The pattern says, “it’s easy”, but for whom?  In this class you will learn the pattern terminology, sizing, and techniques necessary to sew with a sewing pattern.  We’ll go over how to determine your proper size, what type of fabric to use, and what the notions are that are listed on the back of a pattern.  As a bonus, we’ll also explain the difference between a paper pattern and a “PDF” electronic pattern.  From newbie to “seasoned sewist”, this class will make your sewing experience much more enjoyable 


Skill Builders (Private Lessons)

Serger- Learn how to use your serger. In this private lesson, you will learn how to thread the machine, remove and insert needles, and how to operate all the functions of this handy machine. You'll learn how the serger saves time and makes your sewing look more polished. $75

Embroidery- Do you have an embroidery machine but are unsure of how to start? In a private lesson we'll cover threads stabilizers, and the functions of your machine- we teach on all makes and models. $55

Embird Software- This software works on all embroidery formats. You will learn how to edit, format, and design with fonts and patterns. This program is amazing and you'll love all that it has to offer. $55

EverSewn Sewing Support GroupTheEverSewn is such a great sewing machine, and we’ve got a group to help you know all the secrets she holds. We’ll learn new techniques and how to properly use all the accessories that came with the machine. The presentation will be following with a chance to “make and take” a small project to utilize the skills demonstrated in the presentation. First Saturday each month at 3pm. (Free to those who purchased their machines at The Sewin’Asylum/$10 for those who purchased elsewhere)

Full payment is due to secure your spot upon signing up for a class. 100% of class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 48 hours before class. This allows us to offer your spot to an individual on the waiting list and it insures that our teachers will be compensated for their time. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.
