T-shirt Re-Design: Learn how to take a basic t-shirt pattern and transform it into your own design. The students will learn how to change sleeve detail, work with necklines, and various yoke details. We will work with 1/2 scale models practicing various exercises to learn techniques. April 24(Tuesday) 11am-1pm $35

Get your gear into the bag..
We’re excited to offer a monthly bag workshop. In this monthly workshop you’ll learn new skills which will increase your sewing confidence. We are offering a “prep-party” each month so that the workshop can focus primarily on the sewing techniques for the bags. The prep parties are optional, but the students will be expected to have all materials pre-cut and prepared for instruction. *Prep parties are on Wednesdays prior to the class and are $15

Zip it Up! Did you know that April 28 is National Zipper Day? In honor of this momentous occasion, we're having a zipper workshop- an intense zipper workshop. Now, don't let the title scare you! Zippers aren't the beasts they're portrayed to be. Come learn to sew the different styles of zippers and lose your fear. $59 includes materials and a light lunch 11am-3pm

Know Your Knits- Does the thought of sewing on knits leave you frazzled?  Don’t fear the knit- we’ve got you covered.  We’re doing a lecture/demo/trunk show.  We’ll show you new tips and techniques for sewing on this fabric.  In addition, we will be featuring a trunkshow of garments made from the patterns we stock at the shop.  See how the various sizes run and how the fabrics look made up.  Don’t fear that you have to own a serger to work with this material.  We’ve got great methods for the sewing machine to achieve the most professional result. Saturday, May 5 4pm-6pm

How to Follow a Pattern- You see such cool fashions that you want to stitch up. The pattern says, "it's easy", but for whom? In this class you will learn the pattern terminology, sizing, and techniques necessary to sew with a sewing pattern. We'll go over how to determine your proper size, what type of fabric to use, and what the notions are that are listed on back of a pattern. As a bonus, we'll also explain the difference between a paper pattern and a "PDF" electronic pattern. From newbie to "seasoned sewist", this class will make your sewing experience much more enjoyable. Saturday, June 30 1pm-4pm $49

Fabric 101- There are so many different fabrics- do you know what will work with the pattern you've chosen, and how do you sew with it? Is there a special care or a special stitch? We'll unlock this mystery and provide you with sample cards of the various fabrics. You'll gain the confidence to stitch up something new! Materials included in tuition. Saturday, July 28 1pm-4pm $49


EverSewn Sewing Support GroupTheEverSewn is such a great sewing machine, and we’ve got a group to help you know all the secrets she holds. We’ll learn new techniques and how to properly use all the accessories that came with the machine. The presentation will be following with a chance to “make and take” a small project to utilize the skills demonstrated in the presentation. First Saturday each month at 3pm. (Free to those who purchased their machines at The Sewin’Asylum/$10 for those who purchased elsewhere)

Full payment is due to secure your spot upon signing up for a class. 100% of class fee is refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is done at least 48 hours before class. This allows us to offer your spot to an individual on the waiting list and it insures that our teachers will be compensated for their time. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange.
