Sewing Workshops:
Be your own designer!
Whether you want to sew fashion to wear or home
fashions, at the Sewin’Asylum, you can make it your own!
Classes are designed for
all levels of sewing ability.
While working on a project of your choice, you will
learn new sewing techniques.
Sewing is fun and rewarding.
Our expert instruction will take you from design
conception to a finished product you’ll be proud of!
Erica Doyle, instructor. You may start to sew at any time.
The classes are open to teens and adults.
Monthly fees are $55
(9 hours of instruction) or $20 per 3 hour session.
Extended Classes:
These classes are the same as the
Workshop classes, just an extended
amount of time.

Specialty Classes
Polish your skills…Let’s get beyond the straight seams and
venture to the elements that add that special touch to your projects.
In the following classes you will learn new techniques to add to your
sewing ability.
Sewing on Knits:
Learn about the different types of knits and how to sew on
them. You will construct a tee-shirt
using the techniques learned in class.

Corners and Curves:
How do you sew a straight edge and a curved edge together?
You’ll learn how in this class!
The techniques you’ll learn will help you when sewing princess seamed
garments, purses, and more! Saturday, April 26, 9-noon

Piping and Trim:
Learn how to apply piping and trim to your project to add
that special detail to make it unique.

Zippers:
Learn how to make your zippers more
professional. We will learn
how to insert the various types of zippers, lapped, fly-front, invisible and
more. Saturday, June 21

Christmas in July:
Get a head start on your holiday sewing.
You’ll learn how to make some quick and easy projects.
Saturday, July 19, $30. Serger Classes
Serger Basic Training:
Learn all the essentials to operating your serger.
In this class we will cover how to thread your machine, what all the
dials and accessories are for, and basic operation such as corners, curves, and
other details that are necessary in everyday sewing/serging.
After constructing a sample notebook, you will use the techniques learned
to construct two final projects, a totebag and a pillowcase.
Sample materials and handouts are included in the class tuition, supply
list available for totebag and pillowcase upon enrollment. $65 Saturday, April 12

1-4pm
Serger Sweets…Once you’ve learned the basics on the serger,
it’s time to get to the sweet stuff.
Let’s use the skills learned in Basic Training and venture out trying some new
skills. April 12, Saturday
3-5pm Let’s tackle curves and
straight lines and make a cover for your serger.
$15 June 7, Saturday
12-2pm Time to try out some new
thread. We’ll play with Wooly Nylon
thread and make some placemats and napkins. $15 Embroidery Lynn, embroiderer extraordinaire is your guide.
Embroidery classes are open to all levels of ability and all makes and
models of embroidery machine. April 19, Saturday

Rag Quilt:
This is a great introduction into quilting!
This is a quick and easy quilt to make.
