Class Descriptions:Adult Sewing Workshop: In this class you will work on a project of your choice at your own pace. Whether you want to sew home decor, garments, or learn to hem those pants you've been avoiding for awhile, this is the class to get it done. All-Day Sewing Workshop: Looking for extended sewing time? Five to six hours of sewing time to get what you need done. Open to all levels of experience. Sewing Techniques: In this class you will learn specific sewing techniques. You will do samples in the class, and then you can apply what you’ve learned to a specific project. Embroidery Club has begun at the Sewin' Asylum. No matter what type of machine you own you can learn a new technique with our new instructor, Lynn Gertsch. Lynn will also be teaching the rag quilt. Teens 'n Tweens Sewing: this class is for kids' 12 and older. Once a month on a Friday night, we'll sew from 6:30-10pm. the choice of a project is yours, but Erica can help you decide if you don't know where to start. Basic Serging: Have you owned a serger for quite awhile and don't quite know how to thread it? Or, are you interested in buying one in the future and would like to know what you can do with it? This class covers the details of the 3-4 thread serger. You'll learn what each stitch function is used for, what types of thread to use, and the techniques necessary to complete a project. We'll not only put together a sample notebook, but will also construct a pillowcase and tote bag. Serger workshops: Learn a new technique or learn to work with a new type of thread. In these workshops you will make a project on your serger- it may be for home dec or to wear- Most importantly it'll be quick and easy! Quillow: Looking that perfect gift to make? A quilt that folds up into a pillow. Perfect for adult or child. This is an easy project and goes together in a snap! Even if you're new to sewing, this project is great. This project is open to all levels of sewing, adults and children. Kids' Sewing: Girls (and boys too!) can learn this valuable skill. Ages 8 and up will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine, read a pattern, and make a project on their own. The first project is a tote bag, and the rest is up to the child what he or she wants to do. |
